John Michael McCormick, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his home in Middletown, NY. He was 70 years of age.

The son of the late John B. and Mary J. McCormick, he was born on June 9, 1946 in Middletown, NY.

Mike was a retired real estate agent and broker having worked with Real Estate Circuit, LizJohn Realty and Coldwell Banker and he had formerly been employed as Customer Relations Manager at Johnstons Toyota in Middletown. Mike proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing in leagues at local courses and also played in indoor golf leagues during the winter months. Mike also belonged to the Grasshoppers, a traveling golf group. He was an avid Mets fan and Dallas Cowboys fan, and enjoyed watching any kind of sports on television.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine McCormick at home in Middletown; his children, Andrea L. McCormick and her husband William Hills of Vestal, NY and Matthew A. McCormick and his wife Tracey of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren Colin, Caitlyn and Camryn; his aunt Nancy McCormick of Kettering, OH and several cousins. Mike was predeceased by his parents, and his sister Carol J. McCormick.

Family and friends may call at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY on Wednesday, March 8th, from 4-7 PM. Interment services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
